Background OKAFOR, Justina Enoh nee Ohwofasa was born 1974 in Sapele town. She attended Oton Primary School Sapele from 1980 to 1986, Abbess Secondary Commercial School Sapele between 1987 and 1989 and completed her secondary education at Okpe Grammar School Sapele from 1990 to 1994 where she wrote and obtained her WAEC in 1994. She obtained Executive Diploma in Computer literacy from Davogha School of Computer Science, Sapele (2000). Her quest for knowledge, propelled her to gain admission into the Department of Music Delta State University (Delsu) Abraka, where she obtained her first degree certificate in Music /Education – BA (ED) Music 2001. In further pursuit of her educational career, she was admitted into the post graduate programme of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), for her Master Degree from 2004 to 2008 where she obtained her M.A in Music Theory and Composition. Furthermore, she bagged her (PhD) also in Music Theory and Composition from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka (UNIZIK) in 2014. OKAFOR, Justina Enoh won the (Best Student) Head of Department of Teacher’s Education Arts Prize Delta State University Abraka 1999/2000 session. She served her nation between 2002/2003 during National Youth Service, Department of Music at the defunct College of Education, Agbor Delta State. Her research area include ‘Music Teaching and Learning in Secondary Schools in Sapele Urban Area’, ‘Ekha Re Abere: A Project Composition for Piano’, and ‘Ten Contemporary Compositions Reflecting Urhobo and Western Music Idioms. As part of her academic stride, OKAFOR, Justina Enoh has published several journals and chapters in book of reading. To her credit she has fourteen (22) Journal publications International, National and Local respectively including several Musical Compositions. She was member – sub-committee for WICE National Anthem, College of Education Agbor; member – Students’ Welfare and Disciplinary Committee (SWDC), COE Agbor, a member of Result Verification Committee, College of Education, Agbor, member - Women in Colleges of Education (WICE), Agbor Chapter, member – Federal Republic of Nigeria Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, member – Musicological Society of Nigeria (MSN), member of panel of Judges, St. John the Baptist Anglican Church Agbor, 2004 and 2006 respectively. Member – panel of Judges, Anglican Church Asaba Diocese, 2007; member – panel of Judges, Christ Chosen Church of God Agbor – No. 1, 2005 and 2006. Member – panel of Judges, St. John’s Catholic Church (CMO) June 2015 men’s choir competition; member – panel of Judges, Eagles Assembly Int. Ute-Okpu, 2017 Music Concert/Competition in honour of His Royal Majesty the Obi of Ute Kingdom Obi Solomon 1; also, a visiting conductor for various churches. Member – panel of Judges, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), 2018 and she is a member of the Apostolic Faith Church Choir and Orchestra. A member of Time-Table committee for Faculty of Arts, Department of Performing Arts (Music Unit) University of Delta Agbor, Delta State and also composed the University Anthem, University of Delta, Agbor, Delta State.
Education
